ED164 - Preparing Students for AI-Driven Workplaces

In the workplaces your students are entering, AI isn’t coming, it’s already there. Employers expect graduates who can work alongside AI tools confidently and competently, but many CTE instructors struggle to distinguish genuine workplace AI literacy from technology hype. This course shifts your focus from using AI yourself to arming students with the professional AI competency employers actually need.

You’ll learn to identify field-specific AI applications your students will encounter, integrate authentic AI skill development into existing curriculum without adding overwhelming new content, and assess whether students can use AI as the professional tool it is—not as a replacement for their technical expertise. By the end, you’ll have practical strategies for preparing students for AI-integrated workplaces.

IMPORTANT:
This course assumes foundational knowledge of AI concepts, the Tell-Team-Trust framework for interaction, the three pillars of AI literacy, and ethical AI practices. It is strongly recommended that you complete ED160: AI Literacy Foundations for CTE Educators and ED161: AI Ethics, Bias, and Responsible Use before enrolling in this course.
